Michael Hardware
Michael Hardware has over 25 years' experience of business-to-business, consumer and corporate public relations, and marketing communications.

Originally trained as a company secretary before entering client-side marketing and public relations, his early experience encompassed all aspects of the promotional mix for a variety of activities including commercial and residential property development, building contracting, building services and construction products, together with planning public relations, stakeholder engagement and community consultation.


His subsequent consultancy experience has been broad including property, energy, education, construction, housebuilding, architecture, alternative fuels, technology, business process and internet services. Michael worked with British Gas for four years throughout its demerger and transition, and was the consultancy project manager, coordinating six public relations firms, for the Government-backed UK NetYear campaign undertaken by ICL, Cisco Systems, Sun Microsystems and The Daily Telegraph.


As an accomplished writer and columnist, making regular contributions to a number of business, consumer and trade publications, Michael has particularly strong links with the press. He sits on the Council of the Chartered Institute of Journalists, the world's oldest journalist professional body, and has been a member of the International Association of Construction, Design and Property Press (IBP) for more than 20 years, sitting on the executive committee for five years, two as honorary treasurer. He has also sat on industry special interest groups with the Chartered Institute of Marketing and Institute of Public Relations.


Michael is active politically in Essex and is a governor of Passmores Academy in Harlow.
