Educating Essex
The series Educating Essex hit television screens on September 22, and has become the most talked about education programme for many years - that evening it was in the top-five most 'Tweeted' topics on the planet! It was covered extensively in the national broadcast and print press, and has received massive support on social networks, with young people, parents and staff alike.
Educating Essex is a fly-on-the-wall documentary following a number of GCSE students
through their final year at Passmores School, a Harlow secondary school. It is a series of four one-hour programmes, with a second series likely to follow.
Chelgate executive vice-president, Michael Hardware, is a governor of the school and has been advising the headteacher, staff and board of governors on the series from when the first approach was made by TwoTen, the production company, and Channel 4.
The series is airing at 9pm on Thursday evenings on Channel 4.
