MAJOR PR FIRM TARGETS REGION WITH WARRINGTON OPENING
27 October 2003
One of the UK’s leading independent public relations consultancies,
Chelgate Limited, has opened an office in Warrington, Cheshire. The company
has had a presence in the North West since 1999, and has now settled on
Warrington as its base in the region, citing the town’s central location
and ambitious development plans, along with good access to the motorway
network, as reasons for the decision.
The office, based at Dallam Court, will be managed by Anne Thomas, who
holds overall responsibility for client services relating to Chelgate in
the North West. Formerly public relations manager with a leading national
retail group, she headed a diverse PR function, handling media relations,
brand management, corporate affairs, crisis management, marketing communications
production, exhibitions and events. This wide-ranging experience of public
relations and marketing also enabled her to establish extensive media contacts
and a strong business network, at both national and regional level. She
is a member of the Institute of Public Relations.
Anne has been with Chelgate since 2001, working on accounts in property,
IT software and logistics, and has undertaken PR work for several local
businesses. The smart, serviced offices at Dallam Court were at the top
of the list when Anne needed to find premises in Warrington, as the developer,
Portal Business Centres, had been a recent client of Chelgate.
Terence Fane-Saunders, Chelgate’s chairman and chief executive,
said: “For many of our national and multi-national clients, our London
HQ and our overseas offices provide the appropriate locations. But maintaining
a client-facing presence in the North West is important for us, and Warrington
positions us perfectly.”
