CHELGATE OPENS ROMANIA BRANCH OFFICE

The UK-based international PR and public affairs firm, Chelgate Limited, today announced the opening of a new office in Bucharest. Dr Mirela Meita has been appointed general manager.

Dr Meita, a Romanian citizen, returns to Bucharest from the UK, where she has been working at Chelgate’s London head office. Her qualifications include an MA in social communications and public relations from the National School of Political Sciences in Bucharest, a PhD in oncology, and an MBA from the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest. Before joining Chelgate she had been a counsellor in the Foreign Affairs Department of the Romanian Chamber of Deputies, and head of the office of the chancellery of the president.

Chelgate chairman, Terence Fane-Saunders commented: “We think this part of Europe represents an area of tremendous opportunity for our clients, and Romania in particular has the size and economic potential, as well as the strategic and political importance to command significant international interest. Mr Fane-Saunders said Chelgate’s range of client services in Romania would range from government relations and strategic public affairs, to media relations and marketing support programmes.
