CHELGATE ENVIRONMENT CHAIRMAN SPEAKS AT RENEWABLE ENERGY CONFERENCE

Nick Wood-Dow, chairman of Chelgate Environment, was a guest speaker today (9 November) at the South East Renewable Energy Conference in Brighton (www.serenewables.org.uk).

Organised by the Energy Centre for Sustainable Communities (www.ecsc.org.uk), and sponsored by the South East England Development Agency, and the Government Office for the South East, Nick was speaking about renewable energy and community engagement, a specialist interest of Chelgate's environment and planning practice.

Other speakers included former Environment Minister Elliot Morley MP, DTI Director of Renewable Energy Policy, Kristian Armstrong, Head of the DEFRA team at the Government Office for the South East, Lucy Westcott, and Ray Morgan, Chief Executive of Woking Borough Council, which is the leading local authority in delivering sustainable energy in the UK.

The event was designed to improve understanding of planning for renewable energy schemes within the South East region.
