CHELGATE APPOINTS NEW ASIA HEAD
13 November 2000

Leading independent public relations consultancy Chelgate Limited has announced the appointment of Mark Pinkstone as Executive Vice President, Chelgate Asia, effective December 1, 2000.

In his new role, Pinkstone will take full managerial responsibility for Chelgate's Asia operation, including client servicing and overall business development. He replaces Frank Wingate, who is set to return to Chelgate's head office in London as a director of the company.

Prior to joining Chelgate, Pinkstone ran his own PR consultancy, Contact Hong Kong Limited, providing multinational conglomerates, the Hong Kong SAR Government and leading local corporations, with strategic and corporate affairs support.

Before founding Contact, he had a distinguished career with the Hong Kong Government Information Service (GIS), becoming head of the GIS Overseas Public Relations division. In his various government positions he advised policy secretaries on crisis management and was the Hong Kong spokesman to the international media in the early 1990s.

Chelgate Limited Chairman Terence Fane-Saunders said that Pinkstone would bring valuable added experience and capability to the Chelgate Asia team.

"Mark's top level public and private sector expertise will prove highly effective in combination with the successful servicing teams we have put together in Chelgate Asia," Fane-Saunders commented. "And we are looking to expand our presence in the region under his leadership."

Chelgate is an independent international agency, headquartered in London, with branches in Hong Kong, Beijing, and Singapore. The company offers a comprehensive range of public relations services in the areas of technology and Internet, healthcare, financial, corporate, consumer, public affairs, trade and investment, issues and crisis management.
