CHELGATE MOVES TO NEW LONDON HEADQUARTERS
01 August 2000

Chelgate Limited, the leading independent public relations agency, is moving offices. From Monday August 7th the company's headquarters will be at Number One, Tanner Street, London SE1 - a part of the capital which is rapidly establishing itself as a dynamic financial and commercial district on the one hand, and a major centre for art and culture on the other.

Chelgate's chairman and founder Terence Fane-Saunders said his prime concern was to find the right home for the company as it enters an important new phase of growth and development.

"The fact is, we have simply outgrown our current offices," he added. "So we decided to take the opportunity to find somewhere bigger and more modern, yet still easy to get to for our local, national and international clients."

London Bridge quickly proved the ideal solution: thanks to the new Jubilee Line extension, both the West End and Docklands are now only a few stops away, and all of the mainline railway stations are within easy reach. The London Bridge area itself has seen dramatic change in recent years, with its ornate and elegant old warehouses finding new roles as homes for fashionable restaurants, galleries and offices. Construction is also under way for the new headquarters of the Greater London Authority a short stroll from Chelgate's office, while just across the River Thames, many of the country's leading financial institutions are to be found in the City of London.

Previously based in an elegant mews property in Mayfair, Chelgate now occupies the whole of an attractively renovated former warehouse which provides ample space for the current and anticipated influx of additional staff, as well as the equipment required for the company's growing new media capabilities.
