In the same way, we stress that we are a public relations consultancy, not just a press release factory. Of course, media relations will always be an important part of what we do, and Chelgate was the pioneer in the use of online media resources in the 1990s, taking traditional media relations techniques and adapting them for the internet.

At the heart of our business, though, is our relationship with our clients. They range from individuals and start-ups to some of the world's largest and best-known companies; but we're just as proud of the fact that two clients in our first year of business (1988) remain clients today. We think client satisfaction is the performance measure that counts, and client retention is perhaps the best gauge of that.

If our client relationships are at the heart of our business, our people are the heart of our company. The team here are proud of the work they do, proud of the special relationship they have with our clients, proud of their colleagues, and proud of the company they have built. As a result, our level of executive turnover must be among the lowest in the industry, anywhere in the world.
