We are looking for two public affairs professionals
The senior position will require an immense weight of relevant experience. You will know Westminster intimately, be at ease in Brussels and have direct and real experience of politics at local government level too. You will be an outstanding communicator, both in writing and in person, with reach and reputation, and you will have direct and extensive experience of working with the media.
The less senior role will need most of the same attributes, though perhaps (for now) to a lesser degree. Proven relevant experience would be sufficient for this position.
Chelgate is not a large firm, but we compete successfully with the industry giants, and our client list is blue chip and heavyweight. We achieve this by being better at what we do. Anyone we take on will be demonstrably seriously bright and outstandingly professional.
Much of our work is international, taking us sometimes into challenging, even daunting environments. So an international perspective is important to us. And a very important part of what we do could be described as Crisis and Issues Management. So, flexibility, speed of reaction, calmness under pressure and the willingness to work intensively at awkward and unexpected times are all part of the requirement for Chelgate. And an unflinching ability to stare down the office dog, Hector, might be a valuable attribute, too.
Please send through applications to Terence Fane-Saunders, Chelgate’s chairman. it should include your CV with salary history and a covering letter explaining why you believe you are right for Chelgate.
