Terence Fane-Saunders is widely regarded as one of the leaders of the international public relations profession. Before founding Chelgate in 1988 he was chairman and chief executive of Burson-Marsteller, one of the three largest public relations firms in the UK, and served as a member of that company’s international management board.
Liam Herbert joined Chelgate in 2014 as Director of Client Services. Liam has previously worked as Head of External Communications for Imperial Tobacco and Head of Corporate Communications for the City of London Police. In these positions, he developed expertise in reputation management, planning and development, stakeholder engagement, public policy, and strategic solutions.
Nick Wood-Dow came to Chelgate just months after its foundation with a broad experience of public relations and public affairs across a variety of sectors, ranging from trade associations to a beer company, from food and health to a high profile local council.
Mirela joined Chelgate in 2004, working at its London office. The firm, recognising her expertise in media relations and international and Romanian public affairs, appointed Mirela to run its Bucharest office in 2005 where her understanding of the Romanian government and excellent relationships with the media have been invaluable for clients.
Chief Operating Officer Mathew Lane has been with Chelgate for 14 years and has played a key role in Chelgate’s continued growth and success. Before joining Chelgate, Mathew spent 15 years working in banking where he specialised in corporate finance for media companies, particularly those involved in film and television industry. After leaving Barclays Mathew set up a successful film finance company and produced two films both of which achieved cinematic release in UK and other major international markets.
Senior International Advisor Robin Gwynn was, until early 2014, a senior diplomat with 25 years’ experience in the UK’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO). Robin has extensive experience in Africa, including postings in Kenya, Ghana (as Deputy High Commissioner) and Nigeria (as Head of the UK Mission in Lagos).
As former editor and founder of Sustain Magazine, Jim McClelland significantly strengthens Chelgate’s environment, renewable energy and built environment teams. Jim has amassed over 20 years’ experience in magazine publishing, with the majority of that time spent editing journals for the built environment and sustainability sectors.
